Keith-Vincent Koontz, Artist

Keith-Vincent Koontz sees the potential of art in everything. "Art is for the soul, reflecting the past, living in the present and projecting the future."

An artist, whose hands are as dexterous designing livng gardens as sculpting porcelain; whose creations careen wildly across the screens of MTV and grace the National Gallery of Art; who has studied wtih Salvadore Dali in New York, grabs life by the scruff of the neck and shakes it into art.

The harminous fusing of the functional and the ethereal shines in Keith-Vincent's work, especially in the faux marble and painted furniture that grace many of the Viriginia Hunt Country's estates, and sprinkled among Middleburg shops in Virginia.

Keith-Vincent has the ability to transform the ordinary into the fantastic, the practical in the magical. And in doing so, he tranfuses each piece with something of his passion and intensity.

Keith-Vincent graduated from Virginia Commenwealth University, with a degree in fine art. After graduating, Koontz received a scholarship to attend the Pratt Institute in New York City, where he majored in sculpture and conservation and restoration.

He then "hit the streets" taking a job with a painting and decorating company in Maryland that paired him wtih master painters. He painted and reconstructed many Washington D.C. monuments and buildings. After a two-year commitment at the Capitol building, Koontz worked with Martin Lawrence Galleries, working with Salvadore Dali, Agam, and Yankel Ginzburg.

When he was ready to strike out on his own, Keith-Vincent established his studio in the Hunt Country of Viriginia, surrounded by the woods and his award-winning gardens. There, he creates his masterpieces for clients.
